UCP appointments

GP surgeries now have teams of exceptionally skilled, qualified healthcare professionals who have the experience and competency to treat many patients who traditionally believe they need to see a GP.

Utilising the experience of the full primary care team ensures your GP is able to see patients who need their expertise more quickly. Please explore the options below to choose the right service for you.

Urgent Care Practitioner Appointments

You may be offered an appointment with one of our experienced Urgent Care Practitioners (UCPs).

Our UCPs are highly trained healthcare professionals who provide prompt, non-emergency medical care for patients with acute illnesses or minor injuries.

UCPs are either paramedics with advanced clinical skills—able to assess, diagnose, create treatment plans, and prescribe medications—or nurses who have undergone additional specialist training, enabling them to independently evaluate and manage a wide range of health conditions.

Urgent Care Practitioners help bridge the gap between primary care and emergency services, ensuring patients receive timely, effective care for non-life-threatening health issues.

Advanced Clinical Practitioner Appointments

You may also be offered an appointment with our Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) - a healthcare professional who has advanced training and expertise to deliver comprehensive care, often at a level comparable to a doctor.

ACPs are educated to a Masters level and are trained to manage complex clinical care. They use specialised knowledge and advanced skills to deliver high-quality patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, including prescribing.

ACPs have a broad and flexible skill set. They are highly versatile, contributing to not only direct patient care, but also to the wider healthcare system.

Both roles at Pioneer Medical Group have the autonomy to make independent decisions about your care, using their professional skills and judgment. They collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to provide seamless and coordinated care.
