Dental Problems
We are often faced in general practice with people suffering from painful teeth.
A suspected dental abscess is the most common problem that frequents our duty doctor's screen. We are limited in how we can help. At most, if you are unable to make an urgent appointment to see a dentist, we can offer pain killers.
We are not able to give you antibiotics for dental problems. There are many reasons for this, including but not limited to;
- We do not have the equipment or expertise to diagnose dental problems,
- Our medical defence unions instruct us not to stray into managing dental problems.
- You may well not need antibiotics. A clean up may suffice
