Meet the team

After years as a hospital doctor (specialising in general medicine and haematology) Susanna changed to General Practice and qualified as a GP in 2010. Particularl interests include general medicine and women’s health.

Dr Cary is a partner. She works at the Bradgate site on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Dr Chambers qualified from Bristol University in 2009 and joined Pioneer Medical Group in September 2018, having been working at Bradgate Surgery as a Registrar since 2016.
Dr Chambers has particular interests in Dementia and women's health. She is trained to fit contraceptive implants.

Dr Chambers is usually based at Bradgate Surgery and works Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Completed medical training in Cambridge and London, graduating in 1999. Sally has been at the Lawrence Weston practice since 2007. Prior to this she practiced in Wellington New Zealand. She enjoys the wide variety of general practice, continuity of care and teaching medical students. Interests include women's health and child health.

Dr Cooper is a partner. She works at the Avonmouth site on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Qualified Queens university in Belfast in 2000. Rachel spent several years working in emergency medicine prior to becoming a GP in 2006.. She has an interest in women's health and minor surgery.

Rachel worked in Northern Ireland and Australia before settling in Bristol in 2011. Before having children she enjoyed skydiving; completing almost 1000 jumps, coaching and competing at national level. Free time is spent having fun with her two children.

Dr Limna is a Partner. She works at Ridingleaze Tuesday and thurs and Bradgate on Wednesdays

Trained as a registrar at Bradgate surgery in 2006. Returning to the surgery in 2007 he has an interest in joint injection , minor surgery, mental health and the treatment of substance misuse

Dr Hirsch is a partner. He normally works at the Bradgate site on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

After completing her training in Taunton Veronica worked in Africa for a couple of years before returning to her home town of Bristol. She enjoys most aspects of general practice and has a particular interest in women’s health, substance misuse and teaching medical students. Veronica values the contacts she has with local community groups with a shared goal of improved health and well being for all local residents.

Dr Pickering is a partner. She works at the Ridingleaze site on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Joined the practice in 2014 having worked on placement at Bradgate surgery as a junior doctor. Dr Masters worked as a pharmacist in the hospital and community sector before retraining in medicine. He has interests in therapeutics, prescribing, diabetes and information technology.

Dr Masters is a partner. He works at the Bradgate site on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Has an interest in respiratory medicine and drug misuse. He teaches the 2nd year medical students and is also lead for prescribing in the practice

Dr McCaldin is a partner. He works at the Bradgate site on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Pursued a career in paediatrics before entering General Practice as a registrar at Bradgate Surgery in 1999. She has a special interest in paediatrics, adolescent health and sexual health.

Dr Lunts is a partner. She works at the Bradgate site on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Rowlands qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2009. After a year working in Perth, Australia, she completed her GP training in the South West, and was a Registrar at Bradgate surgery before joining the Pioneer team. She has an interest in womens health and is trained to fit contraceptive implants and coils.

When not at work she can be found playing the piano, running around on a touch rugby field or travelling the corners of the globe.

Dr Rowlands is a partner. She works at Ridingleaze Monday - Wednesday.

Dr Bruce qualified as a doctor in Bristol and worked in obsetrics and gynaecology before becoming a GP. She has particular interests in women's health, contraception and teaching. She is trained to fit implants and coils and also teaches Bristol medical students communication skills. Outside medicine she enjoys playing the ukulele, weight lifting, open water swimming and spending time with her children.

Dr Pandalai qualified from the University of Birmingham before moving to Bristol to study General Practice.
She has a particular interest in women's health, mental health, medical student education and teaching medical students from the University of Bristol.

In her spare time she enjoys sewing and dressmaking, weight lifting and spending time with family.

Dr Pandalai usually works at Ridingleaze Health Hub on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Thornton qualified from Bristol medical school in 2007 and initially pursued a career in surgery before choosing to become a general practitioner. He has an interest in medical education, men’s health and gastroenterology and is a trained endoscopist. In his spare time he is a keen triathlete, kitesurfer and father.

Dr Thornton is a partner. He works at Avonmouth on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Dr Marchant joined the team in August 2022. She enjoys teaching and is particularly interested in undergraduate education. She also has a clinical interest in women's health.

In her spare time, Alice enjoys hiking, swimming, cycling and jogging. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and often relaxing with a good novel.

Dr Marchant usually works at Bradgate Surgery on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Dr Siu qualified from Queen’s University Belfast and has worked in the South West and Berkshire prior to joining the practice.

In her spare time, Cammie enjoys swimming, playing the piano and finding good food to eat.

Dr Siu is a salaried GP. She usually works at Bradgate Surgery on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

​Dr Grove started locuming at Pioneer Medical Group in 2022, following her return from a two-year sabbatical in India, Australia and New Zealand.

It's great to have Lizzie join the team on a permanent basis. When Dr Grove is not at Pioneer, she works alongside Dr Bruce & Dr Thornton at the University of Bristol.

In Lizzie's spare time, she enjoys cycle touring, cooking, and reading for her book club.  You'll also often find her running the Eastville Park run with her husband.

Dr Grove usually works at Bradgate Surgery on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

​Dr Aneke is a newly qualified GP who is dedicated to patient care with a special interest in women, urology and men's health.

In her spare time, Chidi enjoys running and nature walks. She also enjoys 15 minutes cooking and watching anything related to interior design.

Dr Aneke is based at Ridingleaze Health Hub on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Mary enjoys traveling, cooking, seeing live music and she is trying to learn Portuguese.

Dr Webster is a Salaried GP who is based on Ridingleaze Health Hub on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Emma enjoys cycling, swimming and running and has taken part in many triathlons and open water swimming events. Dr Wade is a qualified open water scuba diver and enjoys holidays abroad to dive. She has a love for animals and enjoys relaxing with friends and family. 

Dr Wade is a Salaried GP who usually works at Bradgate Surgery on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Esther joined the surgery in April 2019.

​Esther has worked as a paramedic since 2014. Before joining PMG she worked for South Western Ambulance Service foundation Trust. Prior to that she worked for events medical companies, providing paramedic cover at music festivals. She also worked for Birmingham City University as a visiting lecturer in Paramedic Science where she gained a post graduate certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.

Jeremy joined the surgery in April 2019.

Jerry has worked as a Paramedic for 17 years across the South Central region, most recently working as a Specialist Paramedic / Emergency Care Practitioner at two GP practices in Berkshire, providing clinic support at a drop in centre for the homeless and a frailty service for elderly patients.

Jodie joined the surgery in January 2022.

Jodie previously worked in the Royal Navy as a Military Medic and went on to train as an Operating Department Practitioner.

She worked for South West Ambulance Service for 15 years as a frontline paramedic and in recent years, supported the Military and a number of humanitarian projects providing international medical training.

Rob joined the surgery in November 2019.

Rob worked as a Paramedic before joining the BrisDoc out of hours team as an urgent care practitioner.

Jenny joined the practice in April 2015.

Melanie qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from King’s College London in 2004. After completing two years as a rotational physiotherapist at the Oxford Radcliffe hospitals, she specialised in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and completed an MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2015. She has been working as a Sirona First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) with Pioneer Medical Group for the last 3 years. She is able to provide musculoskeletal steroid injections as part of the FCP service. In her spare time Melanie enjoys running, including regularly attending local Parkruns

Jack qualified with a Bsc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from UWE Bristol. He has spent time working for UHBW in Weston General Hospital and in Bristol Royal infirmary. He has a specialist interest in musculoskeletal conditions in particular lower injuries. In his spare time he enjoys playing football, running and travelling across the world.

Judi qualified as an adult nurse in 1985.

​Becky qualified as an adult nurse in 2012 and has previous experience in prison and practice nursing. She has been at Pioneer since 2019 and has a interest in diabetes, women's health and wound management.

Cheryle works at Bradgate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays

Cally works at Ridingleaze on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and at Avonmouth on Tuesdays
